ANNOUNCEMENT OF AVAILABLE GRANTS
FOR 2ND AFRICAN PUBLIC LIBRARIES SUMMIT
Royal Swazi Sun Hotel, Ezulwini, Swaziland, 30th April – 1st May 2016
The African Library and Information Association and Institutions (AfLIA) will be holding a two- day 2nd African Public Libraries Summit as a post- conference event of the SCECSAL Conference which will be held in Swaziland. This Summit is being co-sponsored by the Global Libraries Program of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
This post conference is meant for:
National and Public Library leaders,
Policy makers in the National and Public Library sector
Young emerging public library leaders who are the future of public library services in Africa and
Organisations and Professionals working in partnership with African libraries
21st Century Public Libraries – innovation develops communities
AfLIA is now able to confirm that there are the following grants available that interested persons can apply for.
- Full sponsorship – Economy class Air Ticket, Accommodation, Registration Fee and meals for the 2 day event for 15 young emerging public library leaders. Applicants should justify why they qualify for such a grant and send their applications through their Director/Head of Department
- Payment of only the Conference registration Fee for 35 public librarians.
Applications justifying why such support is needed should reach the Executive Director at firstname.lastname@example.org latest by close of day, 7th March 2016.
Registration is also open on the AfLIA website, www.aflia.net under Conferences and Workshops icon till the 15th of April 2016 and after that date registration will be On-Site. Registration Fee is USD 100.00 which will cover Conference materials, snacks and lunch for the 2 days.
